Concrete Slab for Outdoor Placement of Safe Room
National Storm Shelters believes that everyone should be able to take shelter when a storm is imminent. For homeowners that do not have a garage or a pre-existing Concrete slab, National Storm Shelters will install a concrete slab to anchor your NSS purchased unit.
Concrete slabs are installed and framed using 2×12” boards at up to 8 inches above grade. We use a 3500 PSI STRT CHIPS + Fiber concrete mix. See below for slab sizes based on safe room sizes.
- 4×4 Safe Room – 6×6 Slab
- 4×6 Safe Room – 6×8 Slab
- 4×8 Safe Room – 6×10 Slab
Please note the following: Installation of slab does not include backfilling dirt or reworking of final grade or landscaping. If dirt removal is needed the customer will need to purchase debris haul off. If customer wishes for the slab to be lower, additional labor and equipment cost may be required.
